The main event: the long Tran Phu boulevard running south from Yersin Street past the Sailing Club down towards the Vinpearl cable-car end, lined with the city's biggest towers - Sheraton, InterContinental, Havana, Novotel, Muong Thanh Luxury, Citadines. The six-lane road always sits between the hotels and the sand, so the beach is a crossing away rather than a doorstep, but the public beach here is wide, clean and free, with municipal sun-loungers and a landscaped park strip. Best for first-time visitors and anyone who wants the sea view, the promenade and walkable restaurants without being in the middle of the bar noise.
